Here you  will  see art work of Poseidon,  his wife,  and siblings as well as  statues and coins. You can buy some of this art work and coins at many places such as e bay( and amazon and other places.

Poseidon

This one of many of the statues of Neptune (Poseidon)

Poseidon Amphitrite vase painting 4th BCE Greek Pottery

this is a great vase painting of the great God Poseidon himself and his Wife Amphitrite vase painting 4th BCE Greek Pottery

Some of this art work dates back as far as the 4th BCE (before Christ existence)

POSEIDON AND HIS WIFE AMPHITRITE

POSEIDON AND HIS WIFE AMPHITRITE

Amphitrite And her husband Poseidon.  They look very much in love,  but he had so many lovers and affairs… including with his own sisters.

Poseidon hurling his trident coin

This is just one of many of the coins that has The God of the Seas on it. From what I can find, it looks like these coins date back from 264 BCE (before Christ existence) to 37 ACD (After Christs Death)

Poseidon, Apollo, and Artemis

Poseidon, Apollo, and Artemis. this is art work of the blood kin, looks as though they are having a meeting of a party of sort. Looks like some of it has been broken off and has been vandalized but you can see great detail in the work.

Poseidon~Amymone

Poseidon~Amymone the one true woman that Poseidon Loved

Amymone was the princess of Argos.
She was a wife and was loved by Poseidon. She was a Water Nymph and was said to be very beautiful.   It is believed she was the only woman that Poseidon really did love… but that is another story.

The Horses of Neptune and of the Sea

The Horses of Neptune of the Sea

The Fountain of Neptune in Florence, Italy

The Fountain of Neptune in Florence, Italy was vandalized in 2004 and one of his arms was broken off due to some teenagers climbing on it. This is what has happen to lots of art work for the Greeks and other art work as well. Some is due to old age the ones that are old.

Most of the Greek Gods and Goddesses have art work and statues of them all over the world.   I  for one would love to see all of these things, as  it would be a dream come true for me.

You are  able to see some of these statues in Rome, North America, South America,Florence, Italy,France. I think you can even find some of the Greek statues in Russia as well as Spain and many other places around the globe.  So this mythology is very well known around the world.

So if you ever get the chance to see them,  make sure you take pictures so you can always remember it.

THE STUDENT'S MYTHOLOGY:

The New National Geographic Treasury of Greek Mythology

The new National Geographic Treasury of Greek Mythology offers timeless stories of Greek myths in a beautiful new volume. Tales of gods and goddesses such as Zeus, Aphrodite, Apollo, and Athena and heroes and monsters such as Helen of Troy, Perseus, and Medusa will fascinate and engage children’s imaginations.

National Geographic completes the book with embellishments of each story: sidebars for each god, goddess, hero, and monster link the myths to constellations, geography, history, and culture to help young readers connect the stories to real life events, people, and places. A family tree and a “cast of characters” profile page help make relationships between the characters clear, and a mapping feature adds to the fun and fascination. Resource notes and ample back matter directing readers to more information round out this luminous book.
