Have you ever heard the old saying, “Girls play with dolls and boys play with action figures”?

The toy company Hasbro thought the same thing. Mattel had enjoyed a lot of success with the Barbie doll, but there was no counterpart for boys to be interested in. Toy creator Stan Weston and Hasbro creative director Dan Levine, inspired by the 1945 movie “The Story of G.I.Joe” concept military inspired 12 inch figure based on some

French figurines they saw in a military shop dressed in Napoleonic clothing combined with the mannequin-like ability to pose.
